Family Picture - Mother's Day
Before everyone arrived and the kids went crazy running all over the house, we took this picture on Mother's Day. It's hard to get a picture where everyone is looking in the right direction these days. I think this one came out pretty good. Hope you like it.

Hogzilla
This is the biggest hog imaginable, and it was shot with a pistol of all things. Seems like a bazooka would be more appropriate. I had no idea something this big lived in the North American woods. Check out the pictures here. If you're not into hunting and dead animals, just pass on this one. Thanks for the link Ashley.

What's up with the Monkeys?
Birthday Celebration
Today I turned 30. Last night Emily and I went to Ruth's Christ Steakhouse to celebrate (thanks again to all those in the SS class for the gift card - there's no way we could have afforded it on our own). I have never tasted a steak that was so good. We both got Filet's with shrimp, and they were just bursting with flavor. Maybe when I turn 60 we can go back.

Transformers
Caleb's new favorite thing is Transformers. During our move the box of transformers that I had when I was a kid got taken down from the attic. I pulled them out an showed them to him, and he hasn't stopped talking about them since. I decided to look them up on Ebay and found that some of mine were worth a pretty penny, so I'm gladly trading these puppies in for some cold cash. Link. Caleb got his very own first transformer at the store yesterday. They've changed a lot since I was a kid, but they are still one of the coolest toys ever made.

Balloon Time
So what do you do after you have a party and have some balloons left over? First hit at them like a boxer training to fight Mike Tyson (picture below). Then you cut all the strings off and just see how many you can keep in the air at the same time (we've got video of that if you're interested). Then, when the fun of balloons is wearing off and you're tire of tripping over them in your house, you draw pictures of "bads" on them, take them out back and attach them to the fence, and shoot your BB's at them. Talk about some good cheap fun!
Basketball Pickup Game Characters
If you ever played pickup basketball, you'll want to read this hilarious article. It's so true about the different characters in a pickup game. I don't want to admit which one I might be.

Night, Night
In our new house the boys share a bedroom, and so we tried to prepare them for that in our old house by letting them sleep in the same room whenever they showed any interest. Ben loved getting up into Caleb's bed, but just had a hard time settling down. Caleb likes a night light, but Ben is used to darkness, so there are some kinks we have to work out. They did sleep together a few times, and we eventually moved Ben's crib into Caleb's room and that worked best. One time we found both of them fast asleep in the top bunk. Ben had crawled up from the bottom bunk to the top after we tucked him in. Little rascal. These two are becoming inseparable.

Marriage by Double Proxy?
I can almost guarantee that you've never heard of this legal loophole. In Montana you can get married, without even being in Montana. Neither of you have to be there. Just pay someone $50 to stand in your place. Very bizarre.

Time to Go Back To Busch Gardens
Emily and I used to go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg every October before we had kids. It was always a blast, and I've missed it. They've just opened a new roller coaster that looks pretty awesome (check out the first drop at 90 degrees!). Here's a video of a ride on the coaster. Must be time to go back!

Baby Rabbits
When I was cutting the grass the last time at our old house, I discovered a spot that looked like a big shedding and debris hole. I moved back the shed hair and discovered a nest. At first we thought they were voles (we had a vole problem in the yard at the time), but later realized they were baby rabbits. Unfortunately the circle of life for these babies was a very tiny one, and the next morning we woke up with the neighborhood stray cat in our back yard about 10 feet from the rabbit nest. As you probably guessed, no babies were to be found.

Clark Howard for Mayor??
I might just move to Atlanta if this happened. That would be one efficient city after he got finished with it.

Caterpillars
Caleb has found a new hobby and passion. Every chance he gets he wants to go outside to the yard and catch caterpillars. Armed with his red bucket, be gently picks them up off the fence and the trees. He talks to them and keeps them company, and checks on them throughout the day until we release them that evening. He also likes to catch the ladybugs in the yard. I think his record is 32 caterpillars and 2 ladybugs in his bucket.

Ninja Cow
I had no idea cows could be this agile. Be warned, if you don't like seeing people getting kicked you won't want to watch this. The guy seems ok though.
