Dude, you should totally keep this blog going instead of posting solely on facebook. Here are some reasons why.
1. It's all Andy all the time. When I go to facebook, I see posts generated by all of my friends on the screen at the same time. That means that the cute picture you just posted of Luke in an NC State leotard is competing for my attention with the pic that another friend posted of her doing something really stupid at a bachelorette party. I can only spend so much time on facebook. Also, it's more relaxing for me to visit blogs, because my attention is more focused.
2. Blogs give you more control over the content you post. For example, I have a banner advertising my bro-in-law's band on my webpage. I haven't figured out how to put that on facebook yet.
3. Blogs are public, and therefore, have a potential to reach more people. Sure, you're just interested in communicating with friends and family now, but there may come a day when you want/need to use the blog as a tool to make a bigger difference in the world. They're pretty powerful at doing just that with a little time and effort.
